Steelers Rookie Minicamp Tryout Players

by James Layton

The Steelers Rookie Minicamp is underway this weekend. That means they are also hosting several players for a tryout during it. This year they have invited Twenty-one players for a tryout. Among them are veteran players RB Jonathan Ward and CB Anthony Averett.

It might be just a tryout, but that does not mean anything for the Steelers. The Steelers have signed several players that were invited for a tryout and got a shot to make their 53-man roster. In the last few years one player that went on to have a good career in the NFL was LB Terence Garvin, who was a key member of the Steelers Special Teams core.

Last year they made two signings RB Alfonzo Graham and LB Toby Ndukwe. Both players were close to making the final roster after Training Camp.
