2022 NFL Draft: Rounds 4-7 Recap

By James Layton

The 2022 NFL Draft is finally in the books. Let’s recap what happened in rounds four through seven.

Malik Willis finally had his wait come to an end when the Titans traded up to select him towards the end of the third round.

Panthers got their Quarterback to compete with Sam Darnold. They traded back into the end of the third round to select Ole Miss QB Matt Corral.

The Jets continue to have an amazing draft, and the Bills keep strengthening their team to make another super bowl run.

2022 NFL Draft: Round 1 Recap

By James Layton

This has been the most interesting first round draft I’ve seen in years. You had no idea of how it would unfold.

This is the first draft since 1997 when the 49ers drafted Virginia Tech QB Jim Druckenmiller with the 26th pick.

It was also the first draft to have nine trades and six wide receivers selected in the first round.

This is the most trades made in the first round in past few years that were for active players in the league.

With that let’s get into how the first round unfolded.

  1. Jaguars: Travon Walker, DE Georgia
  2. Lions: Aidan Hutchinson, DE Michigan
  3. Texans: Derek Stingley Jr, CB LSU
  4. Jets: Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, CB Cincinnati
  5. Giants: Kayvon Thibodeaux, DE Oregon
  6. Panthers: Ikem Ekwonu, OT NC State
  7. Giants: Evan Neal, OT Alabama
  8. Falcons: Drake London, WR USC
  9. Seahawks: Charles Cross, OT
  10. Jets: Garrett Wilson, WR Ohio State
  11. Saints: Chris Olave, WR Ohio State
  12. Lions: Jameson Williams, WR Alabama
  13. Eagles: Jordan Davis, DT Georgia
  14. Ravens: Kyle Hamilton, S Notre Dame
  15. Texans: Kenyon Green, G Texas A&M
  16. Commanders: Jahan Dotson, WR Penn State
  17. Chargers: Zion Johnson, G Boston College

Final Cornerback Rankings

There are plenty of corners that will be just the perfect fit for each team. I really like this draft class, beginning with Sauce Gardner from Cincinnati. Let’s now look at my final top 5.

  1. Ahmad Gardner, Cincinnati

  3. Andrew Booth, Clemson
  4. Trent McDuffie, Washington
  5. Roger McCreary, Auburn

Final Safety Rankings

By Barb Layton

I love the defensive back group this year. I believe many of them will be gone by the end of the 2nd round. These are very plug and play ready. Like most I think Kyle Hamilton will probably be the first drafted. Let’s see how I rank them.

  1. Kyle Hamilton, Notre Dame
  2. Daxton Hill, Michigan
  3. Jaquan Brisker, Penn State
  4. Lewis Cine, Georgia
  5. Jalen Pitre, Baylor
