Bears final cuts. Always some surprises and some will end up on the practice squad. Some I like to come back WR Riley Ridley, RB Ryan Nall, and LB Charles Snowden.
Packers final cuts. I think some players who could come back would be WR Equanimeous St. Brown, OL Ben Braden, Abdullah Anderson, DL on the Steelers roster earlier this year.
The Jets final cuts. Some are names that we all know. DL Ronald Blair, CB Lamar Jackson, WR Vyncint Smith. Some players will end up on the practice squad and some others will end up with other teams.
This is the final cuts as of 8/31/21. So there maybe some tweaking yet to have the roster they will have for the first game. Some players cut OL Sean Harlow, LB Kylie Fitts and DL Josh Mauro
The Pittsburgh Steelers have till 4 p.m. Tuesday to cut their roster down to 80 players. So let’s explore some names you could see on that list as cuts or trades.
To start let’s begin with the ones that could be waived/released.
Offense
Tony Brooks-James, RB
Pete Guerriero, RB
Cody White, WR
Tyler Simmons, WR
Malcolm Pridgeon, G
Defense
T.J. Carter, NT
Jamar Watson, OLB
Calvin Bundage, OLB
Ulysees Gilbert III, ILB
Lamont Wade, S
Now that we took a look at a few players that could be cut. Let’s take a look at a few that would be good trade bate for Kevin Colbert.
Offense
QB Mason Rudolph for a mid-late round draft pick.
RB Jaylin Samuels for a late round or conditional round draft pick.
Defense
LB Cassius Marsh for a late round draft pick .
Special Teams
P Jordan Berry for a conditional round draft pick.
This was a hard decision for me on some of the players. I think they might consider trading Jaylen Samuels and placing Benny Snell on IR. I was just looking at possible cuts.
There were some really big winners in the Steelers verse Lions game. It was so good to see Ben play like the Ben of old. He has 2 new talented weapons in the Running Back and Tight End positions.
Several players were impressive on the the defensive side of the ball also. Let’s get started.
I am so glad to see the Steelers having a home preseason game. It is always nice to see the dress rehearsal game.
I know we are all looking forward to seeing the quarterbacks play especially seeing Ben Roethlisberger play. I am interested in knowing whether Dwayne Haskins can overtake Mason Rudolph as the number 2 QB. Right now it is Mason Rudolph job to lose. He hasn’t done so yet in my opinion.
I am also interested in seeing our 5 starting OL perform together. See if they are forming as 1 united group. Will they be a top 10 OL this year? None of know. Even if they are in the middle of the pack it will be an improvement over last year.
Now let’s touch on the defense. I want to know who will win the slot job in the CB group. I am leaning towards Arthur Maulet at this time. It could also go to Antoine Brooks.
Let’s check out my players to watch this week.
Offense
Ben Roethlisberger, QB
Anthony McFarland, RB
Kalen Ballage, RB
Pat Freiermuth, TE
Rico Bussey, WR
Defense
Arthur Malet, DB
James Pierre, CB
Buddy Johnson, LB
Joe Schobert, LB
Now to move on the the Lions. I know they have a lot of holes to fix. Lets look and see who we should watch with them this Saturday.
