I love training camp. It is interesting to see who are locks on the team. This year it is a little different. Our Quarterbacks room is completely new. We still would like to have one more starting wide receiver as a number 2.
I have a list of 46 on the roster as of now. So, let’s get to my list.
It is July again. NFL Football is about to kick off with training camp. This is the beginning of the best time of year. I can hardly wait.
The Steelers training camp begins on July 25th. It will be very different having the practices in the majority mornings. There will still be Friday night lights on the 2nd of August.
I am posting my pre-training camp 53-man roster. I still believe there could be a trade for a wide receiver and I believe there could be a free agent signing. So, let’s get going.
Offense:25
Quarterbacks: Russell Wilson Justin Fields Kyle Allen
The Steelers Rookie Minicamp is underway this weekend. That means they are also hosting several players for a tryout during it. This year they have invited Twenty-one players for a tryout. Among them are veteran players RB Jonathan Ward and CB Anthony Averett.
It might be just a tryout, but that does not mean anything for the Steelers. The Steelers have signed several players that were invited for a tryout and got a shot to make their 53-man roster. In the last few years one player that went on to have a good career in the NFL was LB Terence Garvin, who was a key member of the Steelers Special Teams core.
Last year they made two signings RB Alfonzo Graham and LB Toby Ndukwe. Both players were close to making the final roster after Training Camp.
Let’s get into the tryouts.

With the 2024 NFL Draft just ending a little of three days ago. It’s never too early to start looking ahead to the future prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft.
This is a very deep class right now at Edge Rusher, Offensive Tackles, and Wide Receivers. A few of the top players to know are DL Mason Graham (Michigan), Edge James Pearce Jr (Tennessee), and CB Benjamin Morrison (Notre Dame).
The first night of the 2024 NFL Draft is in the books. It was a very exciting and historical night.
This draft set and tied several records in the common draft era that started in 1967. It set the record for the most offensive players drafted in the first round. It tied the record for the most quarterbacks drafted in the first round since 1983. But it set the record for six quarterbacks drafted in the first twelve picks.
It also set the record for have the first defensive player being draft at the 15th spot by the Colts, which is the latest by far for a defensive player.
There were also five trades made during the first round. The Minnesota Vikings traded up twice in the first round and the Buffalo Bills traded down twice in the first round.
The Kansas City Chiefs have won the Super Bowl in overtime. Now we finally have the complete draft order for the first round. As of right now, the Bears and Cardinals are the only two team to have two picks in the first round.
The Steelers announced Tuesday a few practice squad moves. They signed OL Tyler Beach and OLB David Perales to the squad. They also released QB Trace McSorley and DB Nate Meadors from the unit.
The Texans are coming into this game more beat up than the Steelers, but Pittsburgh has more key injuries. The Texans are missing a great player in OT Laremy Tunsil.
